- How do I get the most out of Neat Gift? To the point, Neat Gift aims to sort through the many products available, and provide a means to connect
users to a more relevant "premium" selection of gift ideas that are highly rated by consumers, a great value, an interesting new design, a reliable favorite or a
combination of as many of those as possible. On the results page, items can be ordered by popular rating, price or alphabetically in a drop-down below the category
image. If you know what your looking for, try navigating throught the center area on the home page. If you're looking for suggestions, try the left menu or the search
tool here. There is also a keyword tool on top of the left navigation on every page.
- Free? What's that? Free, like when it doesn't cost anything to use the site. Under certain circumstances,
roughly as likely as a total planetary alignment, we receive a fee from the individual merchant site represented in the product link. You get
the best price attainable on great gift ideas and if you tell your friends about us everything will work out fine.
- I'm pretty sure I was "redirected.."
What happens is, when you click on a product link, a new page opens and our database keeps a record of how many times someone was
interested in that item (so we can build a better, more interesting site for visitors). That new page then receives a server request to load the
Individual item page on the merchant's website so you can read more about the item, see a larger image of it and decide if it suits you.
It happens very quickly, and it happens all the time. We're just happy to tell you about it.
- What about personal information and your privacy policy? Our privacy policy is here.
- Why should I register? The best reason is that you can browse the site and "bookmark" items for later review or purchase. The items aren't scaled down,
abbreviated little "snippets" either. When you log in with your email and password, a new menu tab will appear with your name on it in the header (If you have a nickname that you prefer, use it as your "first" name when you register). When you click the menu tab you will be directed to a page (or more) of the items you found interesting.
If you need to, you can edit things in your user profile: login » click the menu tab with your name for bookmarks » click update profile »
modify whatever you like and submit the changes.
- I really like the site. If only it were:
Blue,
Green,
Caramel or
Peach.
If cookies are enabled this sets a cookie to remember your preference as well.
- I' d like to "email a friend" a product link. Will they continue to receive emails afterward? No. We don't capture or retain either email
address entered in the form. If your friend wants to visit the site, that's nice, and thank you for suggesting us. At this time we feel we should point out that if you don't
use their real email address in the form they probably won't get the recommendation... which is almost sad.
- How do I know what the email will look like if I "email a friend" a product link? Well, consider yourself a friend, put your own email
address in both text areas and send one to yourself first...
- I clicked a link and it didn't.. Do something right? Please click the "report link" feature embedded in each product listing and let us know
so we can correct it.
- I visited a link and there were no products there. Why is that? This site is very new. Content, features and products are added every day.
If you didn't find what you were looking for, the odds are very good that the next few weeks will introduce something of interest. We suggest you
Bookmark us and come back.
- A lot of items are highly rated. Are you "stuffing" the ballot box? Nope. We do select items from the "most highly rated" category on merchant
sites, items that were rated well by consumer advocacy groups or items that are just popular at the moment. Oh, and we would remove an item if several visitors
were unhappy with it, so it might appear that most items are highly rated. The rating system works by averaging the ratings in the database for a certain product
and then swapping that number for the appropriate image. The merchant's do receive a default favorable rating at the start, meaning that when someone leaves a
rating for that merchant, the averages work normally. We hope the election officials don't drive up here in a swirl of hanging chads to straighten us out...
- How do I submit my rating for an item? You need to be logged in to leave a rating for an item. This was intentional, to encourage guests to take it a
little more seriously, because you will have an effect on whether or not others will buy the item, which is a good thing. When you log in, the rating images themselves
become links to the rating page for that item. We ask that you actually own one, or have some first-hand experience with it or at least saw one out the car window.
- I visited an items detail page and found it was less money than you had indicated. Often, items are "On Sale" when we add them to the
site, but it's necessary to show the regular price because it will not be updated after the offer expires. We would rather you were pleasantly
surprised than disappointed. Another reason is, a few manufacturers have restrictions on the lowest advertised price which we try to comply with.

- When I logged in I saw "content filter". What's that about? A work in progress. We would like site visitors to be able to customize the site as much as possible to
their liking. Ideally, the content filter will allow a logged in guest to filter out products from their results and emphasize areas of interest. It's very "clunky" right now and I would recommend
leaving it "off". You can switch it on or off here if you're
logged in.
- Audio books are recorded versions of the original title available in different formats (mp3, AAC, WMA) and through different media (downloads, cd & cassette
tape). Aside from choosing an Audio Book title that interests you, take care to choose the format and media
that are compatible with the device that will play them back for you. Most players will play mp3's.

- NeatGift.com does not collect financial information ("credit card numbers, account information") from Individuals who have registered
("members") or casual visitors. Neatgift.com will not request financial information from you on our site, through email or any other means. Purchases are
handled on selected merchant sites where your information is subject to the Privacy Policy on the site that you visit.
- Personal information collected by NeatGift.com is not sold or transferred to another party. Personal information such as your name, address,
email address and any other optional information is collected to provide improved services, features and customer service. The site will function
well without registering and we're happy to have you here.
- Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that contain name-value pairs (including preferences, allowed access, or last visit information),
an expiration date, and the domain it should be sent to. NeatGift.com uses cookies to recognize visitors and remember preferences, bookmarked items
and Birthday (or Holiday) reminders. The site will function well without cookies enabled and we're happy to have you here.
- NeatGift.com may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or court order or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NeatGift.com, our users or others.
